This project involved building a custom online ordering and table booking system for a multi-location restaurant group. The client was using a generic third-party ordering platform that charged high commission fees, offered limited customisation and provided no integration with their kitchen management system.
The challenge
Commission fees on every order were significantly reducing margins. The ordering experience was generic and unbranded. There was no upselling capability, no allergen management system and no integration with the kitchen β meaning orders had to be manually re-entered by staff, creating errors and delays.
The solution
We built a fully branded, commission-free online ordering system with direct kitchen integration. An AI-powered upselling engine suggests complementary items at the point of ordering based on basket contents and popular combinations. A comprehensive allergen management system allows customers to filter the menu based on dietary requirements. The table booking system integrates directly with the ordering platform β allowing pre-ordering for dining reservations.
Results
Elimination of third-party commission fees saved approximately Β£2,400 per month. Average order value increased by 22% through AI-powered upselling suggestions.
